The Story
My work has taken me all around the world. One day, in South America, I found a group of kids sleeping in the lobby of the apartments I was staying. I didn't know what to do. I wanted to help but felt awkward, embarrassed and unsure of how to approach them. So I went to the shops and bought them some food. By the time I got back, the kids had gone. They were gone for 4 days. Later I found out that one of the group, a young girl of 9 had been found raped and left for dead in a park. The children had gone in search of the little girl, knowing that if the police found her first, they might never see her again.
How can we stand by when there are kids and people all around the world living in the worst kind of poverty? Living in fear with no-one to help them and no-one to turn to.
That night I vowed to do something, anything I could to help. So here we are..
The Just Foundation was set up so that we, you and I, could have the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of people around the world. To try to give them dignity, safety and hope. To provide them with a safe place to work and live, to play and to eat.
At this stage, we’re piloting Just. We want to prove to potential investors and some big name retail customers and distributors that our idea can work and that people will buy our products. So we have only made a few, limited edition pieces.
Our plan is to turn Just into a household name. A new way of supporting people by doing business with them in a just way, by reinvesting our profits and by directing our funds towards projects that will help some of the poorest children in the world.
By purchasing one of our products, you will not only be helping our children and paying the wages of our workers, you will also be showing some of the UK’s largest retailers that business can be done this way. We invested all our money into Just. All we ask is that you invest a few pounds to help make Just a success.
